I was diagnosed with RP – Retinitis Pigmentosa when I was 16 years old. I experienced total vision loss around age 40. Three years ago when I moved to Naples, I was a client at the Lighthouse. Last year I was a volunteer, and this year I can proudly say — I am an employee at the Lighthouse of Collier! I teach Independent Living Skills classes to those with vision loss. It gives me great joy to be able to share my adaptation skills with others who have experienced the same challenges that I have experienced over the years living with vision loss. Participating in the tactile art class is uplifting. I look forward to sharing good times and experiences with all I come in contact with at the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse has become a place I can go to enjoy great times with wonderful people.
