He began showing a real interest in art in 2019 and started lessons in 2020.
He particularly likes drawing and painting animals and nature. He also enjoys reading comic books and creating comic book strip scenes.
He enjoys working with watercolor, pastels, acrylics and pencil drawings. His favorite is pencil drawings.
One of the hurdles we've had to overcome is getting an art teacher who believes in his abilities. One art shop we went in had everybody using pencils and markers and gave John only crayons! When people don't believe a child is capable they act accordingly. And so it was...We never went back. It is so important to have people surrounding our children who give them encouragement and show them how to do things. That's the biggest hurdle we have had to endure. Always expect the greatest and let them show you what they can do.
He continues to be a blessing wherever he goes and those that are kind and encouraging to John are those that we choose to surround ourselves with.
