The Energy of Love: A Note to Caregivers

To every caregiver out there—whether you’re a parent, partner, sibling, or friend—I want to share something with you that comes from  my heart, and from  the journey many of us walk together:

Being surrounded by love takes energy, yet it’s the energy that flows back—through care, connection, and joy—that helps you thrive as a family.

Caring for a loved one, especially when that care includes navigating difficult challenges, can be deeply exhausting. It can stretch you in ways you never imagined. The days may be long. The worries may pile up. The routines may feel endless. And yet, somehow, you keep showing up.

Why?

Because love fuels purpose. And purpose fuels life.

We don’t often talk about how much energy it takes to love deeply. We talk about the joy, the selflessness, the devotion—yet rarely the toll. The physical exhaustion. The emotional weight. The quiet tears. The moments of questioning. Yet it’s all part of the tapestry of caregiving.

And still, love flows. Not just out—yet back in.

It flows through a smile from your child, a hand squeeze, a whispered thank you, or a moment of laughter you didn’t expect but desperately needed. That energy, when it returns to you, is what keeps your heart from breaking. It’s what mends the cracks. It’s what gives you the strength to keep going, day after day.

So if you’re reading this right now, let me tell you: You are not alone.

There is beauty in what you’re doing. There is healing in the love you give. And there is hope in the moments that warm your heart, even when things feel heavy.

Don’t forget to let those warm moments in.

Let them nourish you. Let them remind you why you’re here, and who you’re doing this for. Let them be your pause. Your breath. Your prayer. Your refill.

And most importantly, let them be your permission to care for yourself, too.

The world can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re giving so much of yourself. Yet you matter. Your rest matters. Your joy matters. Your dreams matter. When you care for yourself, you’re not taking away from your loved one—you’re giving them the best version of you.

So today, I invite you to hold onto this truth:

Love takes energy, yet it also gives it back. And in that exchange, we find the strength not only to care—but to thrive.

With heartfelt gratitude for all you do,
