When I founded Additional Needs, Inc. (ANI), it was because of what my family was going through—what so many families are still going through today. I saw firsthand the challenges, the struggles, and the deep love that binds us all together. And I realized something: We are not separate. There is no “us and them.” There is only us.
We are human. We have differences. And yet, those differences are what make this world a beautiful and moving journey. Too often, though, fear creeps in. Fear of the unknown, of what is different. It creates division where there should be connection. But if we stop for a moment and ask ourselves—who is “them”? Truly, who is them?
We are the same in so many ways. And when we choose to see that, when we agree to disagree without turning differences into hatred, we begin to understand one another. That understanding starts within.
To see the soul of another person, you must first be willing to see your own. You must be able to say, I was wrong. I was misinformed. I never stepped outside my own lane to truly see the world. And then, you must take a new step forward.
Imagine a world where we take each other in as we would our own child, our own parent, our own loved one. Imagine hearts filled with the true blessing of life itself.
This is how the world will change—how it will thrive. Not through separation, but through togetherness. Through us.
Let’s start today. Let’s find a way to lift each other up, to help each other thrive. If this resonates with you, reach out. Let’s talk. Let’s build something together.
